To the Editor,

The financially insecure America has become our reality — especially when it comes to retirement.

Recently released data from the Indexed Annuity Leadership Council provides insights into American’s retirement savings — or lack thereof.

Personal savings hold a big part of the retirement equation, yet one in five admit they have nothing saved for retirement at all. For Americans who have saved, 56 percent are unsure if their money will last their lifetime. As life expectancy increases, it is important Americans feel confident in their retirement savings situation and right now 90 percent do not.

I am the executive director at the IALC, an educational council committed to providing complete and factual information about the use of indexed annuities as part of any balanced financial plan.

America is facing a pending retirement crisis and I urge your readers to take time to address their retirement fears, find ways to mitigate risks, and plan for a financially sound retirement.

Have them take action to save more. They can start by checking out our new interactive game — Master of Retirement. This quiz-style game can be found at MasterofRetirement.com.
